🧍 Body Type Calculator
Two people of the same height can have very different healthy weights because their skeletons differ. Frame size — small, medium or large — captures that, and the wrist is the easiest place to measure it.
Wrap a tape just below your wrist bone, enter the number with your height and gender, and the calculator classifies your frame. Large-framed people sit at the higher end of any healthy weight range.

Frequently asked questions
How is frame size decided?
By wrist circumference bands that shift with height and gender. A woman 65 inches tall with a 6.1 inch wrist lands in the medium band for her height; a man 70 inches tall with a 7 inch wrist is medium too.
How do I measure my wrist correctly?
Wrap a tape just below the wrist bone where a watch sits, snug but not tight, and read in inches. Measure in the morning before any swelling from the day.
Why does frame size matter?
It refines weight targets: large-framed people healthily sit at the upper end of any healthy weight range and small-framed people at the lower end. It stops a good build looking overweight on paper.
Can frame size change?
Your skeleton is set, so the category is stable for life. What changes is the muscle and fat around it, which is exactly what the other calculators on this site track.
