Can you show a worked example?
2+3*4 gives 14 because multiplication comes first, (2+3)*4 gives 20 because the parentheses force the addition first, and 2^3 gives 8.
Is it safe to type expressions?
Yes. Only digits and the arithmetic characters + - * / . ( ) % ^ are accepted, and the expression runs inside a locked-down sandbox, so typed input can only ever do math.
What does the percent sign do?
Here % is the remainder (modulo) operator from programming: 10 % 3 gives 1, the leftover after dividing 10 by 3. It is not a percentage here.
